Father of MP3 industry in IITg -Nathan Schulhof

Nathan Schulhof also known as “The Father of the MP3 Player Industry”, Nathan Schulhof invented, patented and introduced the first MP3 Player that brought a revolution in the development of audio players. His innovation, ‘Listen Up Player”, won him the prestigious “Innovations Award” from the Consumer Electronics Show in 1997 and a “1998 People’s Choice Award”. It was the first MP3 Player that played the audio content downloaded from the Internet.
His efforts also led to Silicon Valley Systems, the developer of Word Handler, the first and best-selling high-resolution graphics word processor for Apple II computer. In 1990s, he founded Information Media Highway Corp. (now ‘audiohighway.com’), with the aim to launch hand-held portable devices that would allow selection, retrieval, storage and playback of audio content. ‘audiohighway.com ‘is the first media catalogue website with audio download software that could download audio directly into a media device.
